Coconut Moon is a small Web Site design and production firm, committed to designing good, clear, fast-to-download web sites. We've been in business since 1996. Most of our clients are small and growing businesses that need a professional site but don't have the deep pockets to hire a "big name" design firm. We're sticklers for speed, and we write clean code. We work out of a home office, using outside designers and coders only when needed. We believe in customer service, and all the sites we design and maintain are important to us. We're located in the small town of Fairfax in Marin County, in the north San Francisco Bay Area, but we have clients from all over -- some we've even met in person!
We aim to create web sites that are accessible to all browsers, with simple navigation and clear content. We have experience with several popular shopping carts, including Yahoo!Store, ShopSite, CartIt, and Mercantec SoftCart, and have helped to design and set up online stores. We have experience in using Flash and its action script, and have several sites that have chosen to use Flash extensively. We use Javascript on our sites when its appropriate, but try to limit its use. We aim to make our sites accessible to search engines. As the web is evolving, we're working more with CSS, and with the separation of markup from content. We create sites that need a content management system using Drupal. We do graphic design ourselves, and we also at times work with other designers - usually Sandra Murray Design, Spotted Dog Graphics, and Tim Barrett.
